So Party season is in full swing so if you’re a bit more organised than me, by now you’re probably sorted for Christmas party outfits! However not to be forgotten are all the other (less fancy) social occasions over the Christmas and New Year period where you need something nice to wear but full on sequins/glitter/redlipΒ  might look a tad too much. For family gatherings, mid week pub/restaurant outings etc my absolute favourite thing to wear is some sort of blouse that has something a bit special about it.Β  They’re brilliant year round, so if you pick the right one you can really get your moneys worth. You can also create totally different looks depending on what you wear them with – jeans, leather trousers, skirts, high waisted trousers can all look incredible with a great blouse. Plus by styling a blouse one way or another you can avoid the horrible feeling of being under or (arguably worse) overdressed! I love a really sheer top with jeans for example or a billowing shirt tucked into a tight fitting high waist!

I’ve narrowed down my absolute favourites out there at the moment. They all have a bit of a twist which stops them looking in anyway ‘work appropriate’ or boring. & Other Stories and Mango are doing amazing blouses right now!
