All about the Back to MAC Program

You probably saw earlier in the week I was looking for recommendations for nice nude MAC  lipsticks to pick up in return for my empties.  A few of you were asking us questions about this program so we decided to put a post together to answer some of these.

Basically, in an effort to be more kind to the environment MAC run a program where they encourage you to bring back your empties to any MAC counter for recycling by swapping 6 of them for a lipstick of your choice.  Its pretty much as simple as that.  I go through the Prolongwear foundation like it is going out of fashion so I always have plenty of empties lying around.  You can return empties, from lipsticks to eye-shadows & even the eyelash boxes.  Most people like to de-pot their eye-shadows and bring them straight back. (Click HERE to see’s guide on how this is done)

A couple of things to note however, is that the offer only applies on the black & silver lipstick containers so the limited edition collections like Viva Glam  or Guo Pei me are not an option 🙁

Another thing to remember is that if you buy or receive a gift set or any multi packs, these must be returned together & will only count as one item.

In the US the program is a little better because if you return to a MAC store rather than a counter (like in BT’s) you can choose from lipstick, eye-shadow or lip liner.

Some of you gave me brilliant recommendations that I have added to my list for next time but this time I went for ‘Pure Zen’ which is brilliant nude for everyday makeup.  Its a really light peachy colour which I love.  The other one I chose was ‘Velvet Teddy’ this I will use with heavier makeup for going out.  Its a good bit darker than Pure Zen so for me its a far as I would go with regards to colour on my lips.

Keep the recommendations coming!! we love finding new colours 🙂
