One of the very first posts I ever did was my favourite Spring/Summer nail polishes. I can’t believe it’s almost September and as it wasn’t much of a summer, I’v one eye on Autumn/winter clothes and make-up. For our favourite Autumn/Winter nail polishes I haven’t looked at any new launches for this year. This is a rundown of the staples that I use over and over again.
At first glance some of these may look veery similar, no prizes for guessing I’m a fan of all things burgundy for A/W. But no they actually are quite different on ?- same same but different! I’ll start with those shades. Prepare for some bad attempts at describing the shades..
OPI Quarter of a Cent Cherry– This is the one that is not coming out true to colour in the pics for some reason but it is exactly what it says, a cherry red colour. Deeper than a bright poppy classic red but still a red rather than a wine.
Essie Bahama Mama– This is probably my favourite nail polish ever. I don’t even know how many times I’v repurchased it . Firstly it doesn’t chip badly at all. The formula seems to be better for this shade than others for some reason. It’s the colour I love mostly though. It’s a gorgeous purply/burgundy colour. Sometimes it looks more purple and sometimes more wine. I would 100% recommend it.
Revlon Vixen– This is a very dark burgundy colour that leans slightly brownish. It’s an easy go to A/W colour.
OPI Bastille My heart– This reddish wine colour looks stunning on the nails thanks to the tiny flecks of shimmer running through it. It is not glittery in any way though.
Ciate Cookies and cream– I love neutrals that are a bit murkier looking for the Autumn/ Winter if that makes sense. Cookies and cream is a kind of a dirty nude colour. That is literally the worst description ever so look at the pics instead!
Essie Maximillian Strasse her– I’v spoken about this colour before as I wear it year round! It’s a gorgeous murky greenish-grey.
Essie chinchilly– This is a really well known shade by Essie. Essie is amazing for creamy polishes with no glitter. This one is a really cool grey.
Essie Bobbing for baubles– I’m sure it’s obvious Essie is my favourite Nail polish brand. Bobbing for baubles came out in a christmas collection a few years ago. I picked it up straight away because I dont usually like navy but this has a murkiness about it that I like. Kind of like a grey-navy.
Butter London Chimney Sweep– This is a charcoal colour with a tiny amount of shimmer. I wear this loads in the winter.
OPI Black cherry chutney– This looks nearly black and at night it just looks black but it has some purple and shimmer aswell. You can see it more during the day and its gorgeous!
