I thought I’d run through some of my less expensive makeup items that I use regularly and always go back to!
First up is the Maybelline Colour tattoo 24hr eyeshadows, specifically the shades On and On Bronze and the leather effect formula in the shade creamy beige. On and On bronze as the name would suggest is a gorgeous bronze shade that adds a sheen to the eye rather than shimmer. It’s so easy to sweep on alone with your finger in the morning and you’re done.
I tend to use creamy beige as a base for other eyeshadows but again it can be used alone and looks really pretty. The formula of these for the price is fantastic. You don’t need a lot of product and you have a little bit of time to work with them before they set. Once that happens they do. not. budge. Amazing if you want your makeup to last for the day without need for touch ups. I’d highly recommend these.
Sleek blush by 3 €13.49
Sleek have some absolute gems in their collections. I especially love their blushes and contour kits. This is my favourite blush palette (LACE), that hardly looks touched even though I use it all the time. The two outside shades are matte and the middle has a bit of gold shimmer to it. It reminds me of Nars Orgasm. The shades are very poppy but used sparingly, leave you with a healthy, natural flush.
I wasn’t going to add my voice to the chorus of beauty bloggers raving about this stuff but I do use it practically every day so here it is! One of those rare products that lives up to the hype, and only €5.79! It covers spots and imperfections incredibly well and the odd time I put a little under my eyes too. Number 2 is a great shade for me. We did a whole blogpost on concealers HERE if you’d like to read more.
I love the formula of the original nail paints by BarryM. You’d be hard pushed to find better quality and colour selection at their prices. I really think they’ve upped thir game even further though with the Gelly shines and now the quick dry paints. Both of which do exactly what they claim to do. The gelly shines leave an almost shellac like shine and the quick dry polishes negate the need for a topcoat altogether. My absolute favourite shade is ‘Eat my Dust’. I wear it ALL the time. It’s a gorgeous pale blue summery shade
NYX cosmetics are available in pharmacies all around the country now so these shouldn’t be difficult to get hold of. I’m not a huge fan of lipglosses. The stickiness and the way your hair sticks to your lips when the wind blows :/ . These butter glosses from Nyx are so different to any others I’v tried. They’re more of a creamy lipsheen than a gloss. The formula is just as you would expect from the name.. buttery. They aren’t one bit sticky and have amazing colour pay off. They don’t cling to dry patches either. I’v tried quite a few colours and my favourites are creme brulee and Tiramasiu. Both pinky nudes with Tiramasiu leaning more brown while creme brulee is peachier and lighter in colour. If I’m wearing lipgloss chances are it’ll be one of these two.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeliners €4.99
There are soo many terrible kohl eyeliners out there I didn’t think I’d be able to find an inexpensive one I like. I usually use the Charlotte Tilbury ones or the Urban Decay 24hr glide ons. Both of which glide on and then set and last. No tugging at the skin or effort to apply. The scandaleyes eyeliners from Rimmell really remind me of the Urban Decay ones. The nude one is brilliant for making you look more awake
This is my go to liquid liner. I featured it in May favourites aswell. It’s the easiest to work with if you’re a bit of a novice. I can usually manage to make my eyes nearly match!
Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara €13.99
I was recommended this by Aine who said people had asked her if she was wearing fake lashes whilst wearing this. I love Max Factor Mascaras so gave it a try and I’v gone through two in quick succession. It makes lashes appear really thick and full !
